Artist Statement

I am an artist who primarily works with acrylic paint, creating pieces that are impactful and relatable. I am inspired by nature, particularly the diversity of different species. Through my artwork, I hope to encourage people to connect with the natural world and recognise the importance of protecting it. I am particularly influenced by Esao Andrews and the way he connects humans with nature through his gothic aesthetic. I admire his use of colour and the way he represents different species. I also want my artwork to explore identity and self-acceptance. Having struggled with this growing up, I hope to create work that helps others feel comfortable with who they are and feel represented. Moving forward, I would love to pursue a career in painting or animation, using my artwork to share personal experiences and create a sense of connection, peace and acceptance.
