Olivia - Artist Statement
I am an Art & Design student at London South East Colleges, Bromley, with a passion for realistic wildlife art. I mainly work with graphite and coloured pencils, focusing on fine details, textures and capturing the personalities and emotions of animals.Nature and wildlife are my biggest inspirations, alongside artists such as Terry Isaac, whose realistic wildlife paintings I admire. One of my proudest achievements was exhibiting The Fallen Tiger at London Zoo, where I explored the impact of poaching and how art can communicate important messages about wildlife.I particularly enjoy working with coloured pencils because of the detail and realism I can achieve through layering and blending. As I continue developing my practice, I hope to experiment with new materials and techniques, improve my observational drawing skills and create artwork that encourages others to appreciate and protect wildlife.
